The Rev. Glenn Palmer, Rector

The Reverend Glenn A. Palmer served a parish on the coast of his native Maine for 7 years prior to serving as an active-duty Army Chaplain for 20 years. He served as the Senior pastor of Episcopal/Lutheran congregations on Army posts around the world. In 2020 he retired from the Army with the rank of Chaplain (Lt. Col). His military awards include the Bronze Star, the Combat Action Badge and the Legion of Merit.

Upon retirement from the Army, he served as a clinically resident Chaplain at the VA, followed by a year of serving as a Hospice Chaplain. He accepted the call to serve as the Interim Rector at Holy Comforter in FEB of 2022, upon the retirement of the Rev. Dr. Cynthia Taylor after 22 years of faithful service. He is now the “settled Rector” at the Church of the Holy Comforter.

He is especially interested in the areas of Spiritual Direction, Servant Leadership, Pastoral Care/Counseling and Preaching. He has a Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Gettysburg with Honors in Biblical Languages and Studies and has completed 2000 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education.

He and his wife Pamela have three grown children and eight grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking with Pamela, reading. Mountain biking, working out and all things New England Patriots.
